PAST EXHIBITS
Logging! Boom! ...or Bust
April 2nd - August 30th
The history of settler logging and sawmilling around Harrison Lake and Harrison Mills very much parallels the history of logging elsewhere in British Columbia. Small sawmills were established early in the Gold Rush days to supply the travelling miners, and eventually to provide timber and fuel for the railway. As more settlers came to the area, the demand increased, and technology progressed. Explore these historic developments in our new exhibit!

Where was China Town?
January 22nd - March 29th, 2025
Did you know Agassiz had a China Town? Many racialized Chinese labourers made Agassiz their home during, and after, the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Join us as we uncover and discuss this forgotten piece of history using artifacts from the community's descendants and the railway.

SPIRIT WRESTLERS: THE DOUKHOBORS
June 2nd - August 31st, 2024
In this thought provoking exhibit, we learn the history, persecution, and stories of the Doukhobor people. In the 100th year anniversary of Doukhobor leader Peter (Lordly) Vergin’s death on October 29th, 1924, we are taken back through time to come to an understanding of the Doukhobor culture and its roots.
