1893
The original CPR Station was built in 1893 after the first station burned to the ground on a windy, wintery January 31st of that year. CPR President Mr. Van Horne commissioned Edward Colonna to design and build a new station to replace the original building.
The new structure was not only more resilient but also showcased the architectural style of the era. Colonna, a German artist and architect credited for many Canadian Pacific Railway stations and offices and was known for his attention to detail and innovative designs, used a blend of local materials and contemporary techniques to create a station that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The rebuilt station quickly became a vital hub in the community, supporting the growing needs of the railway and serving as a landmark in Agassiz. Over the years, it witnessed countless arrivals and departures, playing a central role in the development and connectivity of the region.
