The Agassiz-Harrison Historical Society is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to preserve and display artifacts, records, and information of historical and heritage value, in relation to the Agassiz-Harrison area.

The society operates a museum and archives that exhibit and store artifacts, photographs, and newspapers that tell the story of the Agassiz-Harrison Valley, the District of Kent, and Harrison Hot Springs.

Our Archives Include:

Approximately 8000 local photographs
Artifacts relating to the local surrounding area

Bound copies of the local newspapers that operated in the community – dating back to the early 1900’s
Local history books
Canadian Pacific Railway history in relation to Agassiz area
Manuscripts and textual records

Maps

Our goal is to eventually have many of these archives available to the public for viewing and researching purposes. Until this point they will be restricted to trained historical society staff and volunteers. We do, however, accept research requests both online and in person at the museum.
